4 Reasons Dental Implants Are Your Best Option

Dentist Blog

When it comes to replacing missing teeth or teeth that you need to have extracted because of decay, you don't want to wait. However, you may be a bit uncertain as to what your best options are. After all, there are many options to consider, such as implants, dentures, and bridges. Here are four reasons why dental implants are the best choice:

Keep Surrounding Teeth Strong: The problem with bridges or dentures is that the natural teeth you still have will need to be shaved in order for replacement teeth to fit securely in place. When the teeth are shaved, it exposes the enamel underneath and you will likely suffer from sensitive teeth at times. Dental implants will not require any of your natural teeth to be shaved since they will attach securely to the jawbone, and you don't have to worry about your natural teeth preventing them from fitting correctly in your mouth.

Looks Natural:  Dental implants definitely appear more natural than other options and this is, again, because they fit securely to the jawbone just like your natural teeth do. On top of this, the dental implants will actually stimulate the jawbone so that your face does not sink in. Your face will continue to appear as it normally does because your jawbone bone and the gums underneath the missing teeth will not slowly deteriorate over time.

Easy to Care For: You can't take dental implants in and out of your mouth. Instead, they will sit on your gums just as your normal teeth do so you can continue brushing your teeth as usual. Since other tooth replacement options simply sit on the gums, you will need to work to clean underneath the tooth replacement to stimulate the gums underneath to prevent them from deteriorating as quickly.

Much More Durable: Finally, you are much more likely to get more for your money with dental implants since they will last longer. Since they attach to the jawbone, they are much stronger and easier to eat with. Bridges are much more susceptible to cracking while dentures can easily be lost or broken when dropped.

When you know these four reasons that dental implants are your best option for replacement teeth, you can be sure that you seriously consider it over the other choices. You are sure to get more for your money while retaining your natural appearance that you are used to.

Dealing With Dental Dilemmas: Soft Teeth and Dental Care

Being born with naturally soft teeth, I've spent a lot of time in and out of the dentist's office. Not only have I learned a lot about basic dental care, I've also discovered many tips for dealing with broken teeth, extractions, implants, and more. I decided that I wanted to make the most of my experience by sharing what I've learned with others. True first-hand experience is a great teacher, and I knew that my story could help. I created this site to do just that, and I hope that the information here helps you to understand what to expect from your dental problems.
